1934 Ford Model 40 Special Speedster

“My grandfather was an early believer that everyday objects – including automobiles – could be seen as works of art,” said Edsel Ford II, who unveiled the Speedster. 1934 Model 40 Speedster, the historical sports car made a comeback at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance show in Monterey, California.

The custom made model, which served Edsel Ford as a personal roadster had changed many hands after his death in 1943 until its last owner, a Texas car collector, bought the car in 2008. After the collector’s sudden death in 2010, the Speedster returned to Edsel’s home, now operated as an historic site called the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House.

But, over the years, the numerous owners of the roadster model changed its looks and hardware but RM Auto Restoration in Ontario, Canada, reversed all the alterations to take the famous model back to the 1940 design and engine.
